Use Me, Abuse Me

2010 New York Photo Festival, USA

One of four exhibitions at the 2010 New York Photo Festival, USE ME, ABUSE ME was curated by Erik Kessels and dealt with artists who use everyday photographs to create works. Worked with the curator throughout the entire process, from concept to installation to the opening event. Fifteen artists from nine countries were invited to participate. Daily contact with all the artists while determining what work we would use, how to install the photos and the logistics in transporting to NYC. During the process applied for two grants, both of which USE ME, ABUSE ME successfully received. They amounted to over €30,000 which covered the artists’ travel cost, the shipping expenses and the publication of the catalogue.
