TOT ZOVER is located in a famous cemetery in Amsterdam and holds a permanent collection of artifacts relating to death and funerals. DE GANG is a space within the museum that exhibits contemporary photography dealing with death. Helped write the grant for funding 2010’s exhibitions with the Director and colleague who initiated DE GANG.

Personally invited the photographers with the exception of Paul Fusco whom I dealt with through Magnum Photos. Handled everything from the budget to the installation to PR and the opening events. For Bedrooms of the Fallen, Ashley Gilbertson had never exhibited his work, nor was he interested at that time. Convinced him to share his work as well as create new work specific to the Netherlands.

Over the course of the 3 exhibitions, DE GANG gained momentum, and with every exhibition, it received more and more press. The NRC and Volkskrant listed the museum as one of the top museums of 2010.
